Metal racking, stored inventory, freezer and cooler walls, and high mounting positions can change the wireless environment. A floor plan helps define the work, but existing coverage problems need to be reviewed in the areas where devices are used.
Start with the coverage and device requirements
Tell us where scanners, tablets, printers or mobile workstations lose service and whether the problem occurs while moving between areas. Share device models and your IT team's requirements for coverage and roaming.
A warehouse Wi-Fi site survey can map signal conditions along accessible aisles and operational zones. Agree on the survey areas and inventory conditions so the findings reflect the environment you want to support.
Plan the physical installation safely and practically
- Access-point positions, mounting surfaces and equipment suitability.
- Lift access, ceiling heights and work windows around warehouse activity.
- Cable routing and protection near racks, doors and production areas.
- PoE and switch connections, coordinated with the IT team.
- Network closet locations and fiber backbone links when the network design requires them.
- Labels and location records that maintenance staff can follow.

Validate the areas that matter
A post-installation survey can document coverage in the agreed work areas after APs are mounted and configured. Operational testing with the actual scanners or applications should also be coordinated with your IT team; a signal map alone does not verify every application or roaming behavior.
When requesting a quote, send approximate dimensions, rack and ceiling heights, a floor plan, known dead zones and any lift or access restrictions. Note whether the facility will be occupied and stocked during the work.

Can a warehouse use the same Wi-Fi layout as an office?
Warehouse layouts need their own review. Tall racks, stored materials, mounting heights and moving devices create different conditions from an office. AP locations and cabling should follow the warehouse requirements.
Can you help with Wi-Fi coverage around freezers or coolers?
We can review the access, construction, device locations and operating environment as part of the scope. Equipment ratings, mounting and cable routes need to suit those conditions; coverage should not be assumed through insulated or metal walls.
Do you provide lift-coordinated installation?
Lift needs, site access, equipment arrangements and scheduling are reviewed before quoting. Include ceiling heights and any restrictions on working around racks, inventory or active operations.
Can you guarantee scanner roaming from a signal heatmap?
No. Roaming also depends on the scanner, access points, configuration and application. A survey documents wireless conditions, while operational validation with your actual devices needs to be agreed with the IT team.
